We decided to put in a solid maple 90 mm wide tongue and groove floor, certainly practical as it will last forever, the brand is called Floor Select and is prefinished in Aluminium Oxide with a 20 year liquor warranty. This is another of those luxuries that is a tiny bit heavy, though not to heavy coming in at about 60kg.. but as soon as we saw it we knew that it was the floor we just had to have, and now that it is installed it looks absolutely fantastic.

The table is made out of bamboo the same as the benches and is set on a pedestal that collapses down to allow us to use it as a bed, it also rotates.

The table dimensions are 900 x 600 mm, this allow for us to use it as a table but then when you rotate it long ways and moves it further away from the lounge when you rotate it the other way giving more room for when you’re sitting around and not eating.

We first thought we would get a professional cabinet maker to build the kitchen for us, Peter said he thought he would just not be able to build it himself to the standard he wanted, he was worried that it would end up looking like a Homer Simpson kitchen.

In the end though it all comes down to how much you want to spend, and also how well you want it built, so Peter decided to tackle the job.

The kitchen frame is built out of all plywood so that it is really strong, didn’t want to use anything that will swell if it get water on it.
